GLOBAL MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY-A Step Above The Rest!

Global Martial Arts Academy is different from other schools in the area in a number of ways.  We have been in the Carroll County area, at the same location, for more than 16 years and offer well over 100 years of cumulative experience!  We have age and belt specific classes with a flexible schedule.  Global Martial Arts is a member of four different consulting groups - each giving us the latest ideas about different aspects of Martial Arts (and teaching)!  Our school is backed by the United States Korean Maritial Arts Federation (USKMAF) - an internationally recognized organization whose goal is to set higher standards for Korean Martial Arts in the U.S.  The President of the USKMAF is Grandmaster J.R. West, 8th Dan, certified by the KiDoHwe #186. 

Each of our Instructors is a certified Black Belt in HapKiDo, many of them 2nd and 3rd Degree or higher!  Our Instructors have each trained from white belt through Black Belt here at our school.  This means that we know they are teaching exactly what we want them to, in the way we want it taught.  Our current Instructors are at least 18 years old and receive weekly Instructor training.  At our school, there are NO kids teaching kids!

Leadership teams have been developed to help aid the Instructors in quality student teaching.  Our first is the STORM Team, or Student Team of Role Models.  The STORM Team is made up of our highest-level child and youth students.  Their primary role is to lead other students by example and to help Instructors with whatever else they may need ( i.e.:  being a partner to a lower belt, aiding in organization of games or activities, etc.)  The second Leadership Team is the SWAT Team, or Special Winning Attitude Team.  The SWAT Team consists of adult students who are in training to become an Instructor.  This team participates in weekly Instructor training and assists our Instructors in classes daily.  SWAT Team members have all been a student at Global Martial Arts Academy for at least 1-2 years, and most continue after Black Belt to join the Instructor staff.  It takes approximately 3 years to earn a 1st Degree Black Belt at our school.  Both Leadership Teams are major factors in the quality and high level of our students here at GLOBAL MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY!
