Master Borucki started his formal training in Hapkido in February 1985, and has trained in Tae Kwon Do, Yudo (Judo), Aikido, and various other martial arts styles. He currently holds the rank of Fifth Degree Black Belt in Hapkido, under the United States Korean Martial Arts Federation and Grandmaster J. R. West, Eighth Degree. Grandmaster West received his training while serving with the elite Korean Tiger Division (Special Forces) during his fifty-month tour in Vietnam. He earned his Black Belt in 1967 and has been teaching martial arts ever since. Master Borucki has had the unique opportunity to train with other renowned martial arts Masters such as Grandmaster Bong Soo Han, the "Father of Modern Hapkido," and Dr. He-Young Kimm, the first Hapkido Master ever to grace the cover of Black Belt Magazine. Besides his fifty-five years of martial arts practice, Grandmaster Han has played major martial arts roles in movies such as "Billy Jack" and "The Presidio". Dr. Kimm started his training in 1953 in various Korean martial arts and has published many renowned books on the subject. In addition, Master Borucki has had the rare opportunity to train in Korea under the direction of various Masters and Grandmasters including Kim, Jung-Soo, one of the original four students of Choi, Yong-Sool, founder of Hapkido. Master Borucki regularly instructs at International Seminars with over 300 participants consisting primarily of Black Belts. He has also trained FBI agents, Secret Service agents, as well as State and County police officers. Master Borucki also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Towson University.
